Hagzeopteryx is a large Pterodactyloid Pterosaur, meaning it is not known to have a long tail. It is place by Evolutionary dating methods at 65 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous, placing it at the end of "The Age of the Dinosaurs". Biblical history however does not allow for such ancient dates and places it along side every other organism according to the Creation account recorded in Genesis.
The skeletal remains are known from an incomplete fossil specimen found in Transylvania, so we do not yet know all we can about the animal. It is likely that Hagzeopteryx is actually Quetzalcoatlus, perhaps a full sized adult since Hagzeopteryx is considered larger than Quetzalcoatlus. It was named in 2002 in the Hateg basin of Transylvania and is only known from the type specimen meaning the first specimen found. The full name is Hagzeopteryx Thambema, which translates to "Hateg Basin Wing Monster", a good name considering where it was found.
Hagzeopteryx was one of the largest, likely the largest Pterosaur yet discovered and is estimated to have had a 70 foot wingspan! Though many Paleontologists said it couldn't have been that large because they don't know how it could have gotten off the ground, although the increased amount of oxygen likely helped with this in the pre Flood environment so there is no real reason to doubt the size.
The large size of such a flying animal would both aid and hinder it in that there would be few things it had to fear but it also had to eat and thermoregulate more, as well as avoid anything that may snag it's large wings. This means it probably didn't fly through the trees very often but it probably did spend a lot of time near lakes and rivers hunting. Since it was so large it most likely would have fed on anything it wanted to from fish to felines. Remember that according to the Biblical model of history all animals and plants have existed together since Creation week, so Hagzeopteryx could have eaten horses and humans if it wanted to.
Hagzeopteryx may have been the largest flying reptile to ever exist, at least that we know of so far, and it seems to have inspired many Dragon legends around the world. Dragons with the same description as large Pterosaurs can be traced throughout history all around the world, and if we lived alongside these amazing animals, this is what we would expect. It seems that history supports the notion of humans and "Prehistoric animals" living side by side as well as the literal account of Creation as the origin of life and and not the story of Evolution over billions of years. This is just one more piece of evidence that helps us see how God's word reveals history as well as His undieing love for us.
